- Steve Gibson (who wrote the SpinRite utility) offers
Shields UP, which tests your vulnerability
from the web. He also offers OptOut, a free
utility to let you know when one of your programs is surreptitiously spying on you.
- The Privacy Forum provides some websites and news reports of interest.
- I find the Computer
Risks Digest extremely interesting. It contains discussions on all types of
risks in computer systems, including privacy.
These resources are all pretty old. The problems with malware on the internet has only gotten worse, and this page hasn't kept up to date.

Cruising the Chesapeake: A Gunkholer's Guide
My favorite Chesapeake Bay guidebook. While it mentions marinas, it
concentrates on anchorages—the kind of places I prefer to spend
my time. And in addition to listing shore facilities, it rates each
location for Beauty/Interest and Protection. This is the guide you need
to really cruise the Chesapeake Bay—a smorgasbord of small creeks
and coves.
