I like to use a proxy server called
Internet JunkBuster
to help control the use of cookies and other privacy issues.
The Privacy Foundation
exists to publicize threats to personal privacy.
Steve Gibson (who wrote the SpinRite utility) offers
Shields UP
, which tests your vulnerability from the web. He also offers
OptOut
, a free utility to let you know when one of your programs is surreptitiously spying on you.
Privacy.net can
analyze what information is readily available
from your computer.
The Privacy Forum provides some
websites and news reports
of interest.
Computer Privacy Digest
provides email discussions of privacy issues.
I find the
Computer Risks Digest
extremely interesting. It contains discussions on all types of risks in computer systems, including privacy.
